About HAARP NASA explains on its website that,
- Ionosphere is important because it reflects radio waves and scatters GPS signals, leading to "a big impact on communications and navigation".
- HAARP is an Ionospheric research program jointly funded by the US Air Force, the US Navy, University of Alaska, the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) and the Pentagon.
- It has allowed the US military to communicate with its fleet of submarines by sending radio signals over long distances, via Ionosphere. The ocean acts as antenna and submarines are able to pick up signals.
HAARP started in year 1997. Approval to project was given by then US President, Bill Clinton. HAARP is used to manipulate weather by creating either a high or low pressure depending on the effect desired. It is a form of Geoengineering.
In 1997, the then US Secretary of Defense, William Cohen under the Bill Clinton administration made the following statement at a lecture on April 27, 1997 at the University of Georgia on weapons of mass destruction; “Others (terrorists and enemy countries especially pointing towards China) are engaging even in an eco-type of terrorism whereby they can alter the climate, set off earthquakes, volcanoes remotely through the use of electromagnetic waves… So, there are plenty of ingenious minds out there that are at work finding ways in which they can wreak terror upon other nations… It’s real, and that’s the reason why we have to intensify our own (counterterrorism) efforts.”
Possible experiment of Geoengineering through HAARP - Hurricane Sandy happened in the year 2012. It blasted the eastern seaboard just over a week before Election Day, a number of conspiracy theorists blamed that President Barack Obama had engineered the megastorm to secure his re-election using HAARP. InfoWars.com, TheIntelHub.com and ConsfearacyNewz all posted stories alleging that HAARP or High Frequency Active Auroral Research Program helped the President engineer Sandy. InfoWars published a story arguing that, “Sandy will undoubtedly produce widespread chaos and present an ideal opportunity for Obama to come off as a strong and decisive leader”.
Apart from this facility HAARP is also believed to include the Sea-Based X-Band Radar (SBX), a floating, self-propelled, mobile radar station which is designed to operate in high winds and heavy seas. Officially it is part of the US Department of Defense’s Ballistic Missile Defense System.
It is mounted on a fifth generation Norwegian-designed, Russian-built CS-50 semi-submersible twin-hulled oil-drilling platform. It usually based at Adak Island in Alaska but can roam over the Pacific Ocean to detect incoming ballistic missiles operations. However the sea-based X-Band Radar systems are believed to a fleet of floating HAARP system that can be moved on its own power to any place in the through seas.
Conspiracy theorists also claims of existence of links between Geoengineering and Mind Control.
Harvard University in the United States will soon be testing weather modifying ‘Geoengineering’ technology involving ‘Solar Engineering’ to maximise the dispersal of sunlight in the space and another experiment involving ‘Carbon Removal’ that will attempt to remove carbon from the atmosphere.
