Vegetarian Cheese Brands in India

The other day I happened to read a blogpost on Samirdada’s blog (www.aniruddhafriend-samirsinh.com/vegetarian-nonveg-cheese-2). It was in-line with Sadguru Bapu’s discourse on Non-veg Cheese. It was surprising to know that even cheese has classifications. And what was all the more flabbergasting was to know that the Non-veg cheese is made from gut lining (rennet) of young calves after killing them. Thank God (Ambadnya) we got to know this and now since last one year, myself and many of my friends have started to actively ask the food joints, hotels, restaurants and vendors where we eat about the type and brand of cheese that they serve before eating. Unless we ask them and create awareness we would not get what we want. It is basic demand and supply principle.

On further enquires and information seeking it is found that in India Amul and Gowardhan are the two brands that genuinely make and sell vegetarian cheese which is devoid of any beef contents. Whatever information I have gathered point towards only these two brands selling genuine vegetarian cheese. Hence now whenever we go for eating out we ask the restaurants if they are using Amul or Gowardhan cheese. Only if they do, do we eat with them. Further it was good to know that most of the outlets of Smokin' Joe's Pizza and Domino's Pizza use vegetarian cheese.

Take care folks. Unless we ask they won’t tell. And unless we demand they won’t give.
