India - Australia coming strategically closer; Navy seems to be priority

Recently India and Australia have been coming strategically very closer. In the new year there have been ever increasing engagements between the two nations, especially in their navies which is underlined by the following events -

- Navy chiefs of India, Australia, Japan and the US share dias at Raisina Dialogue 2018 in Delhi.

- Navy chiefs of 'Quadrilateral nations' that include India and Australia issue jointly state that 'China is a disruptive power, must be contained'.

- Royal Australian Navy chief visits Indian Naval Academy, discusses bilateral defence relations.

With India also successfully testing Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) - Agni-V, China must be worried as the powers in the Indo-Pacific region unite against militarization, territory-grab and strong-arm tactics and for free seas.
